I, Prof. Dr. Md. Rabiul Islam Sarker is actively engaged in a teaching position in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering since 2006, following completion of my undergraduate degree.I completed my M.Sc Engineering degree from RUET and PhD degree from the University of Adelaide Australia.In my Professional career,I have been joined in  the positions of Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor respectively. Currently  I am teaching the core courses of Mechanical Engineering including Renewable Energy Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Fluid Machinery, Thermodynamics, Engineering Mechanics, Mechanics of Solids, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Solar Energy Engineering, Mechanical Equipment’s etc. in both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

I have been   also awarded and successfully completed a UGC grant project (CP No.: 3609) of the “Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP)” equivalent to USD 1,50,000.00 (BDT 150.00 lac) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, RUET funded by the World Bank and Government of Bangladesh. The project duration was three and half years starting from July 2014 to December 2017, and he worked as Deputy of Principal Investigator.

A total of 18 papers have been published in different journals and 21 papers are presented in international conferences over the world and published in the proceedings. The major contribution of my research is the application of solar thermal power for, water heating, steam production, drying, desalination etc. I was awarded scholarship like CSIRO Energy flagship, CET energy scholarship, and IPRS commonwealth scholarship during my PhD program. I was also awarded university gold medal for the outstanding result in BSc. Engg. program. 

I  worked as technical committee member for International Conference on Mechanical Industrial and Materials Engineering 2015 & 2017 and 2019 (ICMIME 2015 , 2017 &2019) .
